City of Carson City
I think you will be very impressed with our city and the services that we provide. We are a small city of approximately 1100 people. We are located within an hour’s drive of Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Mt Pleasant.
We have a very clean city thanks to our Pubic Works employees who are always working with our residents to ensure that brush, leaves, etc. are picked up on a regular basis. We have a new 500,000-gallon water tower and have replaced some of our infrastructure with new water and sewer lines. We are a zoned community with a Planning Commission that works with homeowners on improvement requests.
We have our own Police Department. We have a volunteer Fire Department that serves our city and surrounding townships. Our volunteer firefighters have a presence in our schools as they visit and help educate students on fire safety.
Our hospital is a state-of-the-art facility affiliated with Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.
Sparrow Carson Hospital has a very modern Emergency Room, a 64 slice CT scanner, and a new technologically equipped Imaging Department. The employees of Sparrow Carson are very friendly and provide professional and personal care to their patients. For further information go to www.sparrow.org/sparrowcarson
Come join in the fun the first weekend of June during our Frontier Days Celebration. From balloon launchings, balloon glow displays, Carnival Rides, Crafters, and Car Shows to parades and so much more!!
Our parks system is one of the best in the area with more than 80 acres of land in the system.
You will surely enjoy any one of our parks. They are a great place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors.
Our community has several churches of various denominations to serve the spiritual needs of our citizens.
We have a very good school system. The students give their best and are inspired by well-trained teachers. Our schools offer a safe and secure learning environment and more than 85% of our graduates go on to pursue further education and training. The school offers many extracurricular activities, including many athletic teams and clubs, for students to stay involved in their after-school time. Our elementary school received a grade of “A” and the middle and high school received a grade of “B” from the State of Michigan assessment.
